“Responsible behaviour” includes our attempts to cut our paper consumption levels. Paper, which is the primary office consumable, accounts, too, for ¾ of office waste*.
Various initiatives have already been implemented:
Thanks to these initiatives, Candriam managed to reduce the carbon emissions associated with paper consumption from 8 tonnes in 2014 to 5 tonnes in 2015.
This year, Candriam has also decided to launch a campaign to increase staff awareness of paper consumption. By encouraging good practice, Candriam hopes to replace printed volumes by digital solutions, e.g., on-screen document reading and reviewing, and the use of smartphones and tablets.
These are the first in a series of initiatives designed to enhance Candriam’s environmental impact and ecological footprint because, for Candriam, economic growth and respect for the environment go hand in hand and have done for more than 20 years now.
